New Muslims and those Re-connecting with Islam
Islam means "submission to Allah" and a Muslim is a "person who submits to Allah." Allah is an Arabic word, meaning "The God" or "The One and Only True Deity", the proper name of The One who created the heavens and the earth, and all that exists.
We enter Islam by declaring - "Ashhadu an laa ilaha illa Allah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasooluhu" meaning "I declare that there is no other god (worthy of worship) besides Allah, and I declare that Muhammad is the servant and Messenger of Allah". This means agreeing and committing to worshipping only Allah, the One True God, and never worshipping anything or anyone else ever. It also means accepting Muhammad (Peace be upon him) as a true Messenger sent by Allah and agreeing to follow the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) as revealed to him.
Islam is not a new religion; all prophets, including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (Peace be upon them all), conveyed the same message, with Adam (Peace be upon him) being the first and Muhammad (Peace be upon him) being the last and final messenger.
Got questions? We have the answers for you. If we don't know something, we will find out for you, but never give you any incorrect information bi ith nillah (by the permission of God).
As a New Muslim, you may be going to new places and meeting new people. You might have many thoughts and doubts running through your heads,
"I am a Muslim, now what?
How do I learn about Islam?
Where do I start?
What if I make some mistakes?"
While Reconnecting with Islam you might be battling with memories of previous negative experiences with some Muslims. You might be finding your way through some incorrect beliefs and practices you had been taught in the name of Islam. Or, are you wondering if you can be forgiven for any of your past mistakes?
You are not alone.
You have a guide in the Quran and Sunnah.
(Quran is the Holy book containing revelations directly from God, and Sunnah refers to the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him.)
You have Sisters and Brothers in Islam that are here to support you.
We have a strong bond, and our bond is...
la ilaha illa Allah, Muhammadur Rasool Allah
